About NorCalComics

NorCalComics was officially founded in April of 2014. I am interested in two eras of stories - the ancient past and the future. I was inspired by Syd Mead when I was a kid. I was once confused with the info, There's a little of the future in the past, and a little of the past in the future. I can't recall who the hell said it, but it inspired me. Sci-Fi of the past. Then Blade Runner came out.

First NorCalComics production was the Adventures of Alyia, a 3D production about a full sized elf in middle earth chasing trolls and dragons. This has a spppoooky music production that plays with it without any lyrics so it's not tied to any pace of page turning.

Second NorCalComics production was a collaboration with Jaxon Keller in The Tax Man's Executioner on which Jaxon did all the character artwork. This production is complete and should be downloaded to your desktop and played through AcrobatPro for enabling the audio file.

Third NorCalComics production was a story written and illustrated by Jaxon Keller entirely by himself. He kept 100% of his earnings selling them at the first ComicCon event. He also keeps the rights to his story.

Fourth NorCalComics Production and the latest is The Watchers - a 3D Sci-Fi comic about a potential future, hoping someday soon to add sound, and is what I'm using as visual resource for this new site.

The 3D environments are visually rich and like a lot of things not as easy as it may seem. Granted, nor is hand work, but I've found a great production tool in 3D artwork modeling in that once a scene is built, I can change camera angle, positions of objects, character position, or lighting without starting over. It is for this production time savings reason I choose to purse 3D rather than 2D flat artwork.

Music and sound

I'm also a 30 year hobby musician, but not really a professional entertainer. I performed in youth symphonies and concert halls as a cellist, studied classical piano, jazz and electronic music at the JC level. I learned MIDI ProTools and use Pro Korg sound gear, and have sold four musical creations for commercial use. I'm open to music collaborations.
